A summary of Dublin City School events, June 2020 to present re: DEI, SEL and Covid 19 protocols.
Part 1
district elementary students have been told to line up and publicly share their preferred pronouns, (See DCS board meeting, August 23, 2021, at 1 hr 15 min.
BLM flags are referred to in district teacher training materials as “inclusive” and are hanging on classroom walls and on teachers’ virtual classroom spaces,
the district has created a gender transition plan for students which does not require parental consent or knowledge,
district teachers and staff appear to have been trained to hide the sexuality and/or gender preference of students (including elementary students) from parents,
district teachers and staff have been given materials that refer to Critical Race Theory (CRT)* and systemic racism as an uncontested reality and which encourage teachers to help “shift the power balance" from white males,
at least one district elementary school has promoted the books White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo, and This Book is Anti-Racist: 20 Lessons on How to Wake Up, Take Action, and Do The Work by Tiffany Jewel, to district parents and students,
in April 2021, our district hired a diversity director who - last year, in her public position as a diversity director at Miami University - stated her beliefs regarding the theories of systemic racism, identity before merit, and white privilege and referred to anyone who disagreed with her stance as “ignorant” and “uneducated,” (See Wine Down Wednesday, August 5, 2020)
in May 2021, our district hired a new superintendent who, in an interview in February 2021, stated his beliefs regarding systemic racism, white suburban values, identity over merit and the parents who disagree with him. (See Equity and Anti-Racism in Ohio Schools, February 24, 2021.)
district elementary students have been given materials that promote progressive politics, including BLM, the theory of systemic racism, and calls to social justice without the prior consent of parents, (Brain Pop)
concerned teachers are afraid to share their disagreement with the district’s aggressive push for DEI and SEL policies and resort instead to anonymously leaking information to the public,
our district teachers and staff have been pressured to place preferred pronouns in email signatures and on name tags,
our district teachers and staff appear to have been trained to avoid separating children by sex or to use the terms “boys” and “girls,”
